Obesity is a scourge to humans globally. It is now much more prevalent than undernourishment.
Sadly, just this week, the WHO released the statistic that "The number of children under five who are overweight or obese has risen to 41 million, from 31 million in 1990." Of these, 10.3 million are African children and about half are Asian, coinciding with a rural to urban migration taking place over the past 25 years.
With that, activity levels and food/drink choices have also changed.
Two thirds of Americans are overweight or obese, with the largest concentration in the south central states.
