TED Talk: Resilient Plants in a Water Stressed Climate Offer Hope for Future Food Security

In this 13-minute TED talk, molecular biologist, Jill Farrant, focuses on drought tolerant resurrection plants, which she believes hold a key for future drought tolerant food crops.

This might especially be applicable to Africa, where population levels are demanding ever-larger amounts of food year over year and where crops are mostly rain-fed.

These super-resilient plants might come to the rescue, especially in a future drier climate.

She explains from her scientific perspective, what it means to modify genes in plants, too.

The video is full of many great illustrations and graphics.
