Are there really that many fewer recreational fishers on the west coast-- and if so why? A cultural difference in how to have fun outdoors? Or do those who fish on the west coast do so in fresh water instead of saltwater?
There are probably a number of reasons... higher population levels on the E. coast, much fishing in the Florida/SE U.S./Gulf regions and over 1/2 in estuaries, which are in the south/eastern U.S., plus, the ocean has more dangerous fishing conditions on the W.coast.
