A Poison-Free Homemade Mouse Trap for Your Farm

This is an illustration of a low-tech simple mouse trap from an old publication. It shows a homemade mechanical device for trapping mice without using poison.

To make it, a wood dowel is covered with peanut butter and a wooden ramp enables a mouse to go to the peanut butter, falling into the bucket of water. According to the old publication with diagram, it is a mouse catcher “that really works”. The writer says, “I caught two rats and four mice the first night out."

NOTES:
1) Farm cats can also do the job.
2) You can add some oil to the water to keep mosquitos from breeding in it.
