Spear Fishing and Making Pickled Pike in Minnesota

This seven minute video featuring Daniel Klein (The Perennial Plate), who demonstrates spear fishing for Northern Pike through a 30-inch thick ice hole on a lake in Minnesota, is fascinating. The Native American's did something similar, but without our modern day conveniences. The best part is that the story is followed through to completion as he takes us into the kitchen and shows us how he processes the fish for storage in glass jars by making pickled pike.
